But that didn´t mean that they couldn`t be boyfriend and girlfriend. Right. Yet, she had hoped that by some small miracle the pregnancy test drink her sorrows away over Addison's pregnancy only to put herself . "Well, you're definitely pregnant" Jake said, walking back into the examining room.
I said it before, I'm happy for you, because it's the thing you wanted. You were the one, who wanted a baby, not me. Derek always wanted you to have his children, but you didn't want them. So you know what, this won't work, because I don't want to have a baby again. I did this with Nae and I liked it, but I don't want to do it again.
She had hoped that he would at least try to make their relationship work. She never expected him to father her baby. Her collegues were all in there chatting with each other.
She greeted them and then went to the fridge to get some orange juice and bumped into Sam who was about to get himself another cup of coffee. Violet, Cooper, Amelia und Charlotte watched them. She looked at him confused.
Her eyes a little red and puffy. Even though she was wearing make-up. Amelia lifted her right eyebrow. I really have the feeling I missed something. Amelia looked at them amused. Everybody looked at Addison. But Amy pulled her into an embrace.
Now if you excuse me. Violet went after Addison and knocked at the door. You will tell me anyways so you can do this now you know. I'm really sorry Addison.
Not with the baby. He sat down next to her. He felt that she didn't want to talk about Sam. Are you up to it now or later? I can do it now if you want or He was starting to babble.
Can you please lift your shirt? So wanna make the diagnose yourself or can I Dr. It seems to be healthy and the perfect size. It was the most beautiful sonogram she had ever seen. He smiled at her. Addison already has a small baby bump at 17 weeks and soon they would find out the babys gender. Jake popped in Addison's office. He was so smily the last couple of weeks. He went back to her office door. Jake moved closer to Addison.
Now get out of here before I jump you. I still remember you with the pineapples She made a face at him. She leaned on the door waiting for a moment before going back to her desk. Some hours later Jake came back to Addison's office. So come with me and try not to jump me, ok? Jake smiled at her. We will find about your baby's gender today. A girl or a boy?
Seems like it's your lucky day then. It would be strange if it would be a pumpkin right? He smiled and looked at the monitor. I can do whatever I want. Someone needs to save the baby from your mocking and it seems like this task is up to me. Because she and Jake were having a baby together — their second miracle baby. She had convinced herself that it couldn't happen for her — that she couldn't get pregnant. And she had made her peace with it. But when she found herself hugging the toilet morning after morning, she and Jake couldn't help thinking that maybe there was a chance.
Missing Moments Chapter 4: Leading Ladies, a private practice fanfic | FanFiction
So Jake went out and bought a box of pregnancy tests. And when the test was positive, they were overcome with emotion. It was a dream come true. Both of them had dedicated their lives to bringing other people's babies into the world.
Now they were finally going to experience life from the other side of the exam table — they wouldn't be the doctors, but the parents, welcoming their own child into the world. But as excited as she was, Addison couldn't help but worry. She worked at Seaside Wellness, and the women there didn't exactly have the best track record when it came to pregnancies.
But when ultrasound after ultrasound confirmed that her baby — her daughter — was developing perfectly, she began to breathe a little easier.
Still, she didn't take anything about her pregnancy for granted. The fact that she was pregnant was in and of itself a miracle. And it hadn't happened through IVF, or with a man who wasn't ready to be a father or who didn't want a baby. She was having a baby with Jake, an amazing man, who she loved more than anything, and who loved her more than anything.
She couldn't pick a better father for her children. And maybe that's why didn't put up too much of a fight when Jake expressed his reservations about the name Olive. Sure, the name was her current favorite; but with Jake, Henry, and a daughter on the way, she had already gotten everything she'd ever wanted, so she was willing to bend a little when it came to her daughter's name.
Addison met her husband's eyes and smiled. I was just thinking. You know, the more I think about it, the more I don't like the name. She's a nice woman, and a brilliant psychiatrist, but-" "We can think of something better," Jake filled in quickly, picking up his pen and crossing out the name.
Addison shook her head. I had a patient once, named Carly, who was working as a prostitute to put herself through med. And as much as I tried to convince her to give up prostitution, she wouldn't listen. She's one of the few patients I've ever dropped in my career. So I can't-" "Say no more," Jake cut in, grabbing his pen and crossing the name off the list. But little to no headway had been made on choosing a name for their baby girl. Everything she saw and smelled turned her stomach.
It wasn't just food that made her sick anymore; it was perfumes, colognes, the disinfectants they used to clean the examining rooms. Naomi felt like she was trapped in a huge stuffy locker that hadn't been cleaned out in a decade. She felt so sick, she could barely read charts or talk to her patients. But somehow, she managed to hold on. The effort had drained even more of her limited energy. Sitting on the couch in her office, Naomi was struggling to keep her eyes open as she read over some new research studies.
There was a knock on her door. Naomi didn't like the words 'we need to talk'. Lately, it usually implied that someone was upset with her and she was about to get an earful, or she was about to hear something she wouldn't like.
In this case, it would probably be both. Naomi wasn't surprised Amelia was acting so protective. Addison had been married to her brother, and even though they were divorced, Amelia still viewed Addison as her big sister.

However, that didn't mean she could go around making baseless accusations. This is a special and scary time in her life and you couldn't be bothered" Amelia said. Naomi took deep breaths, trying not to get irritated. Getting too agitated would lead to more morning sickness. I see and talk to her every single day". You only interact with her when you have to; you treat her like a colleague, not a friend. You don't call her anymore, you don't come around between patients, you're practically a ghost.
I know she and Sam being together can't be easy for you and the baby makes it…" Raising her hand to cut Amelia off, Naomi said "Please don't; don't assume you know how I feel about any of this. In truth, it doesn't even matter how I feel. I know how close you are to Addison and I can even respect you wanting to stick up for her but you're way off base Amelia.
Believe it or not, my world does not revolve around Addison. I have my own life and own problems to deal with and that's been keeping me busy lately. Me not being around has nothing to do with her pregnancy". You don't even bother coming to the kitchen in the mornings anymore. You're making so much effort to avoid Addison, you're indirectly avoiding the rest of us. But when we do see you, you pretend everything is okay with that fake smile of yours" Amelia insisted, still pacing back and forth.
Naomi glanced at the clock on the wall behind Amelia's head. Why couldn't her appointment have been one hour earlier? Not only did she have to endure this uncomfortable situation, but between looking up at Amelia, her pacing, and her perfume, Naomi was becoming dizzy and nauseated for the countless time today.
If that made her sick, she wasn't going to walk into the kitchen, a room with numerous food aromas mixed together, but she couldn't tell Amelia that. I didn't say I wasn't bothered. I was making the point that my feelings about the situation have no bearing on my recent behavior. My life has been hectic lately, it hasn't left much room for anything else. I haven't been to the kitchen because I haven't been hungry; I've been running around so much lately, it's affected my appetite" Naomi explained, slightly annoyed she had to in the first place; especially when the look on Amelia's face said she didn't believe her.
But Naomi was mostly telling the truth. Outside of getting drunk one time, and subsequently pregnant, she hadn't even tried to process her feelings.
Maya had kept her busy for weeks, she was seeing a record number of patients, and she was fighting through what she believed to be a virus until this morning. But what was really consuming the vast majority of her time was foundation business. She was currently weeding through applications from labs all over the country who wanted grants to fund their research.
During the rare free moments she had, she crawled onto the couch to get as much rest as she could. That left little to no time to obsess over how she felt about Addison's pregnancy, let alone purposely ignore her.
Naomi wished everyone would stop jumping to conclusions just because she hadn't reacted the way they'd expected. Her head was beginning to spin. Breathing in and out, she refocused on Amelia who was finally standing still. Friends make time for each other but it's also a two way street. If everyone was so worried about me isolating myself, how come no one sought me out?
I've been right here this whole time. I haven't given anyone a reason to tiptoe around me on eggshells, but that's how I've been treated". Naomi shook her head. You came here to condemn me for mistreating Addison when I've done no such thing. Frankly, if I was ignoring Addison, I think I would be well within my rights.
