I, Intermediate, Junior, Puppy, etc. Challenge Certificates and Reserve Challenge Certificates shall be written in black ink only. If in the opinion of the judge, the winning dog in a breed class is not of sufficient merit to entitle such dog to be styled champion in the breed, such shall not be awarded a Challenge Certificate.
The award of Challenge Certificates, if any, shall be announced at the conclusion of the judging of the Breed classes of each breed, and no award of a Challenge Certificate shall be made thereafter.
Not more than two Reserve Challenge Certificates may be awarded in one Breed and not more than one for each sex in a breed at a show shall be awarded. The award of a Reserve Challenge Certificate if any shall be announced at the conclusion of the judging of the breed classes of each breed and no award of a Reserve Challenge Certificate shall be made thereafter.
No Challenge or Reserve Challenge Certificate shall be awarded at open shows. Regd Clubs may conduct open shows which could be judged by a judge on the KCI panel or by an Aspiring judge who is under training. The Committee of the Kennel Club of India shall draw up and maintain a permanent Panel of Judges which shall consist of the names and addresses of such persons as are competent to judge at shows and the names of the breeds they are auhtorised to judge.
Clubs are required to obtain a judging contract from the judges which should clearly state the terms of agreement between the judge and the Regd Club.
The Judges contract form will be issued by the KCI. Judges should as far as possible be non-exhibitors: However, a judge judging only Obedience classes at a Show may exhibit his dogs in the Breed classes, and a judge judging only Breed Classes may exhibit in Obedience Classes.
The names of the judges with their breed shall, when possible be printed prominantly in the schedule. Failure to do so will result in withholding further judging assignments. Overseas judges must submit their report to the Honorary Show Secretary within three weeks from the date of the show. The Judging Notes shall contain the name of the exhibitor and the exhibit along with its numbers. The judges shall comment on the winning dogs on each class in the breed.
In shows where the number of exhibits are and more should the judge require a stenographer, the club shall provide a stenographer to assist the judge in taking notes. The title of Champion shall be attached to a Dog awarded three Challenge Certificates under three different judges, but then one Challenge Certificate would have to necessarily be obtained after the age of 12 months at shows held under the Kennel Club of India.
The title of Obedience Champion shall attach to a dog awarded three Obedience Certificates under three different judges in accordance with the Regulations for Tests for Obedience Classes. Nothing in this Regulation shall preclude a dog that has earned the title of Champion abroad from using that title provided the country is named.
No person who is under suspension or indebted to The Kennel Club of India, or to any Registered Club, or Show, shall be eligible to exhibit at any Show, and any prizes won at a Show by a defaulter shall be forfeited; subject to appeal to the Committee of The Kennel Club of India.
An imported dog must be entered at shows with an abbreviation in brackets to indicate the country of its origin.
Late entries may be accepted upto a specified date which must be published in the Schedule at double the ordinary entry fee. It should be specified in all Schedules that entries close on Entries received thereafter will be refused.
If no reply is received within 30 days for the Show CAuse Notice or if the reply is not satisfactory the Secretary shall be empowered to cancel all regulations held by such an exhibitor, after having obtained the approval of the Kennel Club of India Committee.
All such cancellations may be published in the Indian Kennel Gazette. The dogs owned by the above forces and registered with the Kennel Club of India may be allowed to participate in the Obedience Trials conducted by their own Organisations or Government Sponsored shows.
The word entered in the catalogue shall mean that the name of the dog should be printed or cyclostyled or written in ink in all the catalogues and entries that do not appear in the catalogue as stated above shall be clearly disqualified. No exhibit may be removed from a Show before the hour fixded for the closing orf the show except by order of the Veterinary Surgeon under Regulation 14 or by permission in writing of the Show Secretary.
