El campo de la arquitectura no es ajeno en modo alguno a esta circunstancia, de tal manera que es frecuente confundir el primero con el segundo.

Communication and Knowledge In this beginning of the 21st century, one is witness to the general misunderstanding between diffusion of information and knowledge. The field of architecture is not at all immune to this circumstance, so that one often finds the former confused with the latter. De nuevo el Diccionario de la RAE trae la pista de la sustancia del significado de conocimiento. New concepts are incorporated in this meaning that one may think about, such as, on the one hand, the illuminated and focal origin — directed — of diffusion, and on the other hand, how it ends up transformed into a luminous homogeneity, or what is the same thing, certainty that is transformed into uncertainty.
I believe we are in a period in which one speaks more than one listens, in which one communicates more than one acquires knowledge. To understand this, it is necessary to think in terms of effort. As it requires less effort to diffuse or provoke diffusion than it does to extract knowledge, information has gradually ceased to be a means of acquiring knowledge and has become instead only communication.
One may then conclude that one is continuously faced with the semantic error confusing information with communication. Again, the RAE Dictionary gives us the clue in the substance of the meaning of knowledge. That knowledge which can be acquired through information.

As a continuation of the above, the verb to know has different meanings that include the worlds of both the spirit and matter. Finally, two meanings that are shown to speak of knowledge through the senses, as the material apprehension of things.
One therefore reaches the conclusion that information is produced on a two-way street: Nowadays, however, it seems that the first direction has been made reversible, as if it were one of the lanes on a highway, in order to widen and open the flow of communication, which is the vehicle of diffusion. Communication now occupies so much space, that if we were to ask the cultivated man of the 21st century for the meaning of information, in many cases he would probably mistake it for communication.
Continuing with the highway simile, the widening of the routes of communication in our time— television, mobile telephone, internet, high speed movement, etc. So much so, that knowledge remains relegated to the shoulder of the information freeway. And knowledge should be drawing the map through which the highway runs. Understanding, thought, as the intellectual activities that they are, along with the material necessity that exists in man, should determine the route of information.
Only by means of it will the necessary knowledge be communicated to make a happier man. Communication does not cease to be the means of transport for knowledge. Another perhaps more precise example than the one above is thinking that the means of communication is a place through which information moves. A mutual respect and friendship developed between Britten and Imogen, strengthened by their shared love of neglected music from the Renaissance and Baroque eras.
As well as editing and preparing scores for Britten, she promoted Dartington as the base for Britten's new English Opera Groupalthough eventually Glyndebourne was preferred. Six months later, renamed the Amadeus Quartetthe group appeared at the Wigmore Hall, and went on to worldwide recognition. Three years in preparation, this endeavour brought a tribute from one of the audience: But when we all get there, please God, if any conducting is still necessary I hope your services will be required and that I will be in the chorus".
She had attended the first two Aldeburgh Festivals in andand in accepted a commission to provide a choral work for performance at the festival. She agreed, and in September moved to lodgings in Aldeburgh.

As a result, she lived very frugally in Aldeburgh, but her commitment to Britten overrode her own physical comfort. Although she temporarily put her own compositional ambitions aside, she did not abandon all other activities.
She made many choral and vocal arrangements, promoted her father's music, and wrote books, articles and programme notes. The short timescale for the writing of the opera placed considerable pressure on the composer and his new assistant, strains that were dramatised 60 years later in a radio play, Imo and Ben.
She relinquished her post as Britten's assistant to Rosamund Strode, although she did not leave Aldeburgh or break with Britten, continuing her work with the Aldeburgh Festival for a further 13 years. In she moved to a small contemporary bungalow built for her in Church Walk, where she lived for the rest of her life.

The latter work caused ill feelings among several key figures in Britten's earlier career with whom he had subsequently fallen out, such as his former librettists Eric Crozier and Ronald Duncanwhose contributions to Britten's success were ignored in the book.
